silkra

WordPress

Connect a WordPress site so the Silkra agent can apply approved SEO title and meta edits.

Summarize

WordPress lets the agent read and update SEO fields through the site's REST API. It uses a WordPress Application Password, not your normal account password.

Create the connection

  1. In WordPress Admin, open Users → Profile and create an Application Password for Silkra.
  2. In Silkra, open Settings → Connectors → WordPress.
  3. Enter the HTTPS site URL, WordPress username, and Application Password.
  4. Connect and keep Available to agent on for this workspace.

The password is sent to the Silkra API for safekeeping. It is not stored in the desktop app.

Make a change

Ask the agent to update the SEO title or meta description for a URL. Silkra reads the current value and pauses on an approval card before writing.

WordPress keeps the page's existing publish state. That means a change to an already published page may become live immediately. Review the proposed value before approving it.

SEO plugin fields

Yoast and Rank Math may keep titles and descriptions in fields their default REST API does not allow Silkra to write. If the connector can read a page but cannot update its SEO metadata, those plugin fields may need to be exposed to the REST API on the WordPress site.

If the connection fails, confirm HTTPS is working, the username is correct, and the Application Password has not been revoked.
