Founding Engineer

Silkra is a desktop workspace where SEOs and AI work from the same crawl. You would be the first engineer alongside the founder, building the base for how SEO gets done as search shifts toward LLMs and AIOs.

Why we're building this

I have spent my whole career in SEO, and this is the most exciting stretch I have seen. Search is splitting in two: people still search Google, and they also ask ChatGPT and other LLMs, or read AI Overviews, that pull from the web for them. The fundamentals did not go anywhere. A page still has to render, be found, and say one clear thing. But the work around them is changing fast, and the tools have not caught up. I am building Silkra because SEOs deserve better than duct-taped spreadsheets, and because this is the moment to put technical SEO, semantic data, and AI on the same crawl, working from the same evidence.

This is the part I get most excited about: the foundation. A crawl has to be accurate before anything built on it can be trusted, and semantic data only helps when it sits next to the technical fields it explains. You would build the base that SEOs and AI both stand on, and a lot of how this industry works over the next decade could run through what you ship.

What you'd own

The crawler and rendering pipeline: what gets fetched, how it renders, and how it is stored, because every finding downstream is only as good as this
The semantic layer: embeddings, topic groups, overlap, and similarity, set next to the technical fields instead of in a separate tool
The agent and the MCP server, so Claude, ChatGPT, and Cursor can work from a crawl and point back to real URLs
Shaping the product with the founder: what to build next, and what to leave out

What we're looking for

Fluent in React, Node.js, and Electron, with Python and backend work in your toolkit, and comfortable going down the stack when something is slow or wrong
You ship on Vercel and have solid basic frontend skills, enough to take a feature from API to interface without handing it off
You can vibe code for hours with AI tools and stay in flow, while still reading the output critically and knowing what to keep
Experience with crawling, HTTP, or rendering, or the curiosity to get good at it quickly
You have shipped a product end to end and want that scope again
You care where SEO is going and have a view on it. Interest in SEO is a plus, opinions about good tools are required
You want to partner with the founder from the ground floor, roll up your sleeves, and help build something you can own a piece of
